Jacobs on Sportweek, from Monaco gold to the wedding with Nicole

The Olympic and European champion in the 100 on the cover of our weekly on newsstands on Saturday. There is also space for interviews with the “Canadian” Bernardeschi and the Italbasket coach Pozzecco

Marcell Jacobs, the jet man, returns to be the protagonist of the cover of Sportweek. The Gazzetta weekly magazine, on newsstands on Saturday combined with the newspaper (and with Enigmistica Sport as a gift), investigates the secrets, dreams and future projects (not only sports) of the blue sprinter, fresh winner of the 100 meters at the European Championships in Munich. After this umpteenth feat, Jacobs has definitively entered among the immortals of Italian sport, at the level of Fausto Coppi and Sara Simeoni, Paolo Rossi and Federica Pellegrini. “Now, to complete the Grand Slam, all I need is the outdoor world title that I didn’t win in Eugene. Luckily I will have a new chance already next season, in Budapest. I’ll try: my viewfinder is aimed at that appointment ”. But the closest commitment for Marcell is not of a sporting nature: on 17 September, at the Torre San Marco in Gardone Riviera, not far from his Desenzano, he will marry Nicole. Among the guests was also his father, with whom the relationship was renewed only in the last period. “In Monaco,” recalls Jacobs, “it was important to know that Nicole was in the stands.”

Bernardeschi and the Poz too

On Sportweek there is also space for football, of course: the interview with Federico Bernardeschi who tells us about his new Canadian life is all to be read. The former Juventus player landed in Mls with the Toronto shirt and immediately became an idol of the fans: “I feel like I’ve been here for years, I’ve always scored goals, but now I feel lighter”. No regrets for the Serie A left behind: “America has always fascinated me and in Europe a circle had closed: above Juventus there is little for history and blazon.” Another exclusive interview is the one with Gianmarco Pozzecco, Italbasket coach who, on the threshold of 50 years (“But I still feel 18”) is preparing to lead the Italian national team to the European Championship. The Poz always remains the same, a model of lucid madness: “That time I threw a shot in the lower parts of Tanjevic, the other time I put on my gloves at the Olympic village and threw punches at anyone …”. In short, an interview not to be missed and a new issue of Sportweek to be discovered.
