Outdoor specialist Jack Wolfskin and Swiss textile manufacturer Schoeller are launching a more sustainable performance fabric.
From spring 2023, Jack Wolfskin’s waterproof and breathable Texapore Ecosphere membrane made from recycled PES will be combined with Schoeller’s performance fabrics, the companies announced on Tuesday. This includes the Stretch Woven Double Weave fabric and two- and three-layer shell fabrics that stand for comfort, durability and longevity.
The materials will be used for Jack Wolfskin’s Summer 2023 trekking collection, which focuses on the three-layer ‘Diskovera Jacket’. This is equipped with the Texapore Ecosphere Pro Schoeller 3L technology, an extremely abrasion-resistant upper material that offers a soft feel and special stretchability. Another innovation is the new ventilation system: ventilation flaps in the chest area can also be used as pockets.
“By joining forces, we create the best solutions for the industry,” said Daniele Grasso, Vice President Product & Apparel at Jack Wolfskin. “Schoeller has a proven and renowned track record. We share common values. This includes long-lasting product development, suitable clothing for special discoveries in nature, and standards for sustainable manufacturing processes and materials.”
The textiles from Schoeller and the Texapore Ecosphere membrane from Jack Wolfskin have Bluesign certification. Bluesign is concerned with more sustainable and responsible manufacturing processes throughout the supply chain.
