Beck played a concert in Nashville last Monday. Jack White also had a guest appearance there. Instead of performing a song with Beck, White tried to pose as Beck and performed a cover of Chumbawamba’s “Tubthumping”.

White’s performance was captured in a video posted to White’s Third Man Records Instagram page. He comes onto the stage of The Basement and introduces himself as Beck. “I’d like to play one of my favorite 1990s Beck songs that I wrote,” says White, using his best Southern accent.

White then begins a country mashup of Chumbawamba’s “Tubthumping” and The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” before Beck gets up and interrupts the performance. “What are you doing, Jack?” asks Beck. “You asked for nail clippers. I went to my car to get him. I’ll come back and you play my show.”

The short appearance was apparently well received by the audience. Here you can see the video:

Later this year, Beck will open for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And Jack White will be on the road himself next month to present his two forthcoming albums. And it looks like he even got Be Your Own Pet to get back together and play two of the gigs with him.
