Jack White chooses two Belgian bands to provide support during European tour | showbiz

American singer Jack White comes to Europe during the summer months. In June and July he plays in various European cities. And of course there is a pre-program. For his show in Forest National, White enlisted the help of the Belgian band Equal Idiots. And our country will also be represented at his two concerts in Germany, Leipzig and Berlin: SONS will be the support act there.

How did he end up with those two bands? Through an interview on Studio Brussel from 2019, as it turns out. In that interview, Michèle Cuvelier let him hear some Belgian artists. He immediately thought Equal Idiots ‘cool’: “They remind me of The Hives. And that’s a compliment, because I love The Hives.” Although he did have a warning: “There are 2 of them? Bands with 2 never turn out well. You should not do that.” A reference to his time in the musical duo The White Stripes. He was also enthusiastic about SONS at the time: “Cool! I like the bass player’s style. The drummer is also very good, I see.”
