Jack Osbourne told in the first episode of his podcast since his father’s death on July 22nd, How he learned from Ozzy’s death And how he experienced the last week together.

“My head was primarily about to take care of the family and my children and find a way to process what happened,” said Jack after a six -week break.

He first remembered the last week together after Ozzy’s farewell concert “Back to the Beginning” in England. “After my father’s appearance in Birmingham, I stayed with my family and my children in the house for a week. It was a really great week,” said Jack. The family actually wanted to travel to Portugal, but his children got a gastrointestinal flu, so they had to cancel the trip. “My father was in a fantastic mood. He opened the newspaper every day and read the reviews to the concert. I have never thanked so much that my children were sick.”

The news of death

After this week Jack traveled back to Los Angeles. A week later he found out about his father’s death: “I woke up around 3:45 a.m. when someone knocked on my door. It was an employee who had been with us for 30 years. When I saw him through the window, I knew something bad had happened. He told me that my father had died.”

Jack described his first feelings as “just sadness and pain … so many thoughts”. But then he found consolation: “He no longer suffers, he no longer fights. I wish he was still here, but he had a hard time. Nobody expected it to be going so quickly. It wasn’t on our radar.”

Gratitude and rumors

Jack was also grateful for the time of Ozzy’s death, so shortly after his farewell concert: “It has almost something perfect. He was able to say goodbye in such a deep way.”

At the same time, he rejected rumors that Ozzy wanted to take his own life after the concert: “This is absolutely wrong. He was happy about the show and was looking forward to the next phase of his life. And he wanted to spend more time in England, more time with my children, discover more new things.”

“He was loved”

“My father was a special person. He meant something to many people … the common denominator is that he was loved. Very many will miss him,” said Jack.

Finally, he quoted a sentence by Keanu Reeves from an interview with Stephen Colbert, which he also mentioned at Ozzy’s funeral: “I don’t know what happens after death, but I know that people who love you miss you most.”
