“Here’s Johnny” To these words, in the last quarter of “The Shining”, an ax repeatedly crashes into a wooden door behind which the terrified Wendy Torrance (Shelly Duvall) and her son Danny (Danny Lloyd) are in a bathroom in front of the mad Jack (Jack Nicholson) hide.

Almost everything has already been written about Stanley Kubrick’s horror symphony, but now the prop could write a new chapter in the film’s long history of reception. The ax will be up for auction in a few days by auction house Gotta Have Rock and Roll.+

According to the auction house, the tool is in very good condition. It will go under the hammer in a shadow box frame along with some photos of the ax showing it being used in The Shining. At least 100,000 US dollars could bring in the work tool abused for murder.

The horror masterpiece from Stephen King, who was never satisfied with Kubrick’s adaptation, is coming to the stage. As has been heard, Ben Stiller could take over the role of Jack Nicholson.
