Actor and singer Jack Black has done a huge favor for a young fan suffering from a rare condition. Black not only took time out to talk to 15-year-old Abraham at a benefit event, he also sang a song for him from his film School of Rock.

The Tenacious-D singer attended a benefit for the children’s hospice program TrinityKids Care in Torrance, California. There he met Abraham, who is in a wheelchair because of the rare hereditary disease Pearson’s syndrome, a disease of the mitochondria. After Abraham Back said he was a fan of “School of Rock,” the singer intoned the song “Legend of The Rent” from the film. Abraham’s mother shared a video showing the impromptu performance on Instagram.

“Abraham had the opportunity to meet Jack Black today,” she wrote. “Such a wonderful person. He sang Abraham’s favorite song from his favorite Jack Black movie ‘School of Rock’. What joy on Abraham’s face when he heard him sing!”

In the film School of Rock (2003), Black plays a substitute teacher who forms a rock band with his students to compete in a band competition. Black also forms the comedy-rock band Tenacious D with Kyle Gass, who also starred in the movie Tenacious D (2006).
