J.Lindeberg dresses Swedish national football teams

The Stockholm-based fashion label J.Lindeberg will in future be dressing the Swedish national football team outside of the pitch. As part of an initial three-year partnership with the national football association Svenska Fotbollförbundet (SvFF), the brand will provide formal wear for the women’s and men’s national teams, the clothing supplier announced on Thursday.

The collections, which include suits, trousers, blazers and ties, will be presented during the women’s soccer World Cup, which takes place in Australia and New Zealand next summer. An advertising campaign with selected players is to be launched in the spring.

“This collaboration is a passion project for us, but also an opportunity to demonstrate J.Lindeberg’s ongoing focus on connecting fashion and sport,” said Hans-Christian Meyer, the company’s CEO, in a statement. “J.Lindeberg and the SvFF are both brands with an international presence and therefore a great fit.”
