Izegem’s swimming pool takes measures against nuisance

With tropical temperatures approaching, the outdoor swimming pool of Izegem is preparing for a surprise. A maximum of 1,400 swimmers can enter at the same time. Extra staff is deployed to ensure that everything runs smoothly. To make visitors feel safe, the city provides security and there is regular police surveillance. In addition, each swimmer must show his or her identity card upon entry. “There is no place here for people who go too far, smuggle in alcohol and drugs and challenge the rescuers,” says the city council.
