Izegem is making plans for a new swimming pool

Stability studies by swimming pool manager Farys show that the Izegem indoor swimming pool can be used for another 5 years. The city therefore started looking for a solution and has now decided on the construction of a new swimming pool. “We solve any problems with the building locally so that the current swimming pool can remain open for another five years. In the meantime, we are preparing the construction of a new, contemporary swimming pool complex that will meet the needs of our swimmers,” says alderman for sports Virginie Derumeaux.

Master plan

By the end of this year, the city council wants to appoint a designer for a refurbishment study. It immediately examines all sports infrastructure on the site. In this way, the city wants to arrive at a master plan that will be implemented in several phases, starting with the construction of the new swimming pool. The new swimming pool should be ready in about five years.
