The excitement in the 34th African Cup of Nations started with the match between Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau.
In the opening match of the 34th Africa Cup of Nations, Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau met at the Olympique Alassane Ouattara Stadium. Amin Omar from the Egyptian Football Federation blew the whistle for the match, which started at 23.00 GMT. Omar’s assistants were Mahmoud El Regal and Ahmed Taha from the same country. In the Ivory Coast National Team, Max Gradel from Gaziantep FK and Nicolas Pepe from Trabzonspor started the match as substitutes. Pepe entered the game instead of Jonathan Bamba in the 61st minute, while Max Gradel did not get any playing time.
Carlos Mane, who plays for Kayserispor in the Guinea Bissau National Team, and Janio Bikel from Gaziantep FK started the match in the first 11. Nanu from Samsunspor and Edgar Ie from Başakşehir could not get any playing time in the match. While Carlos Mane was replaced by Franculino Gluda Dju in the 67th minute, Janio Bikel took part in the entire match.
The goals that brought victory to Ivory Coast in the match were scored by Seko Fofana in the 4th minute and Jean-Philippe Krasso in the 58th minute.

The cup, held in Ivory Coast under the leadership of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), will end on February 11. The teams will compete fiercely in the organization where 24 teams take part. The team that wins the final will win 7 million dollars. The team that comes second in the tournament will be given 4 million dollars, and the two teams that make it to the semi-finals will be given 2.5 million dollars.
