Artist Katri Helenan the turning points of life and career are revealed in the novelty book Katri Helena, singer (Johnny Kniga).
In the piece, the singer says that her nose was shaped by a surgical procedure in the late 1960s. The reason for the surgery was a car accident that he had been in before. Because of the crash, he had to have an operation on his ankle, and the thought of a nose operation came to his mind when he had to go to the surgeon’s office anyway because of his leg.
Even before this, Katri Helena had dreamed that her nose would be less like her father’s nose. When showing her leg to the doctor, the singer finally asked if the nose could also be shaped a little. And that was possible.
– While I was recovering from the injuries caused by the crash, the surgeon shaped the nose according to my wishes. It was a great relief. A matter of self-esteem, Katri Helena tells in the work. I’ve been photographed all my life since I was 19. I’ve grown to have my photos published. Until then, I had been careful about the angle from which my face was photographed. After the surgery, I no longer had to be careful, he continues.
– I have never said this publicly before, he continues.
Since then, the singer ended up seeing a plastic surgeon for another time after the swelling of her eyelids did not subside. The situation was eventually corrected surgically.
– It was embarrassing because I had to keep wiping the mascara off my cheeks. I also noticed my swollen eyelids in the pictures. It was a bad feeling. I decided that what doesn’t go away with natural means, will be done with a knife, says Katri Helena.
