Slovakia suffered a stinging 3-4 loss in the quarterfinals against Finland on Tuesday.

Slovakia was able to take the match into overtime when Filip Mešár leveled the match at 3-3 just 45 seconds into the third period.

However, Nuoret Leijonat won quickly in overtime when the Finnish captain Jere Lassila sailed through the entire field and scored a 4–3 winning goal into Slovakia’s net.

Finished Slovakia’s first hit Adam Sykora19, uploaded raw words.

– I don’t know if I’ve ever experienced such a blow. I am at the bottom, this is a painful defeat. This was our last chance to prove something. We were missing another piece, Sýkora said according to Slovakian newspaper Novy Cas.

According to Mešár, the match was even, but repeated his captain’s words. Slovakia fell a little short again. However, Mešár played a strong World Cup and forged 2+7 power points in five matches.

Slovakian goalkeeper Adam Gajan did not want to find words. He made some big saves during regular time, but in overtime he couldn’t do anything to Lassila’s distraction.

– We believed we could win, but I fell asleep in the deciding goal. This just wasn’t meant for us, Gajan lamented.
