Goalkeeper who played best at Italian Serie C. Ivan Luca Vavassori recently traveled from the boot country to Ukraine to help war victims.
A week ago, the Vavassori unit was attacked by the Russians while they were evacuating the wounded from Mariupol. Vavassori was injured in the fire.
The man then decided to return to Italy. He reported it on Instagram.
– I’ve had enough. It’s time to come back, I’m not ready to go any further. I did my best to help. I gave the people of Ukraine part of my time and life, Vavassori wrote in the story section.
Vavassori was born in Russia, but was adopted by an Italian family as a child. During his career, the man played on several teams in the lower divisions of Italy.
