Referee Patrick Ittrich has stated that the “uniform interpretation of the rules” demanded by many sides is the referee’s main goal for the second half of the Bundesliga – but that will “never work”.
“The interpretation of the rules is the be-all and end-all. It actually works quite well, there are just always outliers,” said Ittrich on Sunday in “Doppelpass” on “Sport1”: “We can only train ourselves again and again. But it never will “It works 100 percent. We have to live with that.”
