Eva Jinek is not happy with all the rumors about her alleged salary structure at AvroTros, mainly fueled by her enemy Rob Goossens from RTL Boulevard. “It’s very annoying.”
It bothers Eva Jinek that the rumors about her salary at AvroTros have persisted for so long. The presenter returns from RTL to the NPO and will therefore earn much less money. Critics think there must be a salary structure in place to convince her. And Rob Goossens was at the forefront of the rumor caravan.
‘Very annoying’
At one point, Rob even announced that he was investigating her salary. “There are some people involved who seem to be getting nervous, so I’ll get some more information,” he said earlier. There was never any hard evidence and all parties firmly deny it.
What does Eva think about media such as RTL Boulevard making her so suspicious? “I find it annoying when such things, which are not true, are said and written. But then again, just about everything in my sixteen-year career turns out to be news. My switch to RTL, my return to the NPO. Everyone has something to say about that,” she says Nouveau.
Deliberately
Eva has learned to live with it. “I’m used to some things now. And I deliberately chose a job in publicity, that’s part of it. Maybe even more so if you’re a woman. Although: there are now more of us. I used to be the only one besides Matthijs, Jeroen, Paul and Humberto.”
The reason to switch is not money, but time and prestige. Late night is not possible, according to Eva. “I never slept before a quarter past two due to the adrenaline of the broadcasts, no matter what I tried: coffee or no coffee, a glass of alcohol or not, lots of exercise…”
Fresh and fruity
That late hour broke Eva’s mind. “If you go to bed at that time for months in a row, you won’t feel fresh and fruity in the morning. Certainly not if your child wakes up at six o’clock. Complicated.”
Soon Eva will be able to get out nice and early and fully participate in family life, she decides. And she thinks that’s worth something too…
