Ex-figure skater Kiira Korpi is a guest in the latest Kind girl disobedience school in an episode of the podcast. The episode can be heard at Yle Areena.
In the episode, Korpi tells host Tuija Pehkonen that she hopes that the discussion about sexual orientations would be less compartmentalized.
– I haven’t come out of the closet, I’ve expanded this closet! Raven says.
According to Korve, the realization only came from somewhere. The process was also accompanied by internal resistance and fear, which is why the help of both the close circle and the therapist was invaluable. Korpi states that getting to know his own sexual side was part of expanding his self.
– I realized that I don’t have to limit myself to dating only men.
Going broke
Korpi also opens up about how, according to his own words, he went broke in his time.
– At the worst, I’ve felt really hollow, and I haven’t really felt anything. It’s even scarier than being really angry or sad. It’s just such an empty feeling. As if a human shell were left, Korpi tells about his feelings.
– When you are at the trough, you feel really lonely.
Korpi says he got professional help later. The support network has also been helpful.
Kiira Korpi was a married model Arthur Borges with from 2018 to 2021. Korpi told the public in January 2023 that he is not straight.
