Italy’s storm talent Wilfried Gnonto probably before moving to the sports club

In the Nations League, Wilfried Gnonto scored against Germany. The 18-year-old could soon be chasing goals in the Bundesliga. The Italian top talent has probably decided to move to Breisgau.

With sixth place in the past Bundesliga season, SC Freiburg sensationally qualified for the Europa League. In order to do justice to the triple burden of league, DFB and European Cup, the Breisgau team is working on a squad that is competitive in all competitions. The latest target is probably Wilfried Gnonto.

As Italian transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio reports, Gnonto has decided to move to FC Freiburg. The 18-year-old winger played for FC Zurich last season. Under the new Hoffenheim coach Andre Breitenreiter, Gnonto celebrated the Swiss championship title with Zurich, to which he made a decisive contribution in eleven goals.

Gnonto’s fee is probably in the double-digit million range

German football fans should have noticed Gnonto especially in the 5-2 thrashing of the DFB-Elf against Italy. The right foot, trained at Inter Milan, made it 5-1 in the meantime.

According to Di Marzio’s information, FC Zurich is calling for a transfer fee of 10 million euros for Gnonto. So far, the Breisgauers have not left any money on the transfer market. The spectacular repatriation of home-grown player and world champion Matthias Ginter from Borussia Mönchengladbach was free of charge.

This is one of the reasons why Freiburg still has a decent transfer budget at hand. According to media reports, those responsible at the sports club also want to sign a new central defender partner for Ginter.

Among other things, the Croatian sports newspaper “Sportske Novosti” reports that Freiburg is willing to spend another 10 million euros for Martin Erlic. The 24-year-old made his debut for Croatia in the last Nations League cycle and was particularly recommended for a change with his strong performances against world champions France. Last season, the 1.93 m giant was loaned out by the Italian first division club Sassuolo to league rivals Spezia Calcio. For the coming season, Erlic wants to change and not return to Sassuolo.
