Italian reservoir loses 15,000 liters per second and threatens to empty Razennel

A lake that disappears where you stand. In the idyllic Ultentents in South Tyrol that is exactly what happens. The woggler-reservoir, normally a calm giant between the mountains, runs smoothly-with 15,000 liters per second. A leak deep below ground threatens to dry the whole lake within a few weeks. What started when a technical defect has grown into a race against the clock, with consequences for power production, tourism and safety in the region.
