A 70-year-old Dutch tourist died on Wednesday while walking on the Alta Via di Merano, a hiking trail in the Italian South Tyrol. This is reported by the Italian news agency ANSA.
According to news channel RAI, it concerns a woman who fell 100 meters in front of her two children. An air ambulance took the deceased woman to the nearby valley.
The Alta Via di Merano is a well-known hiking tour in the Italian Alps.
The State Department could not immediately confirm the incident and the woman’s death.
