About a hundred supporters of the Italian football club Lazio were seen on Monday at the world-famous brewery restaurant Hofbräuhaus in Munich.

The fans behaved inappropriately as they shouted fascist chants and praised the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler. They also did Nazi salutes.

Pictures and videos of the incident have spread on social media.

Hitler once founded the National Socialist German Workers’ Party in the same brewery restaurant in 1920. Since then, Hitler held mass in the same restaurant.

According to the news agency AP one supporter has been arrested for chanting and giving the Hitler salute.

Press Officer of the Munich Police by Michael Marienwald according to the 18-year-old Italian, a four-figure fine was imposed. The police are considering additional measures against several people.

Lazio fans are known to have strong fascist connections. Supporters have made Nazi salutes several times in the stands.

For example, last summer Lazio published a team photo with the team’s players in the foreground and supporters in the background. When you looked at the picture more closely, you could see when many Lazio supporters did the Nazi salute.

In addition, Lazio fans marched and gave Nazi salutes in 2019 on the streets of Glasgow. Two years later, the club acquired the great-grandson of fascist leader Benito Mussolini.

Lazio will face Bayern Munich on Tuesday night in the Champions League match. The first leg of the quarter-final ended with a 1–0 victory for Lazio.
