Ferrari brings home the maximum from the Italian GP: despite the pole position it was impossible to keep up with an increasingly dominant Verstappen. However, it remains a season of disappointments
A half miracle was needed, because – net of the great emotion given by Saturday’s qualifying – no one, having in mind the cannibals of Red Bull, had had great illusions. In the end, the miracle didn’t happen. Max Verstappen conquered the Italian GP, slipped the (epochal) record of ten consecutive victories into his pocket and put things right, as this obvious 2023 has made us used to seeing. But for a good fifteen laps we had fun, and in a season like this that’s something to be thankful for.
