“It was so wet as if it were raining”: Prince Andrew denies everything

British Prince Andrew may lose the right to use his royal titleif he loses the rape case. However, his lawyers expect the case to fall apart.

“The presence of the Duke of York in our ranks may tarnish the honor of the uniform.” One of the veterans of the Grenadier Guard has formally called on Prince Andrew to step down as colonel of the regiment. According to him, the soldiers no longer want to raise toasts to his health, as tradition requires.

However, now the beloved son of the British queen risks not only his military rank, but also the royal title itself, if he loses the rape case. The lawsuit was filed by Virginia Jufre, one of the key witnesses against Gilaine Maxwell… Financier Jeffrey Epstein’s girlfriend was found guilty last week on five counts out of six. It was she who looked for and brought girls to Epstein’s villas, whom he generously shared with friends from high society. The victims, who were minors at the time of the events, told in court that they were being sold to oligarchs. Among the clients was one of Epstein’s best friends – Prince Andrew

– It did not last long. I mean the process itself. But it was disgusting. He wasn’t rude, no. When he left, he said “thank you.” I sat on the bed and felt humiliated, dirty. I wanted to go to the shower and wash everything off.

Prince Andrew himself continues to deny his acquaintance with the prosecutor, even after the publication of joint photos. Here are some memories Virginia Jufre shared:

– He was sweating so much! It was as wet as it was raining. I was just horrified by this, but I knew that I had to make him happy, because this was what Jeffrey and Gilaine expected of me.

In response to this accusation, Prince Andrew declared that he was physically unable to sweat.

– I have a problem with perspiration. I have a special disease. I suffered what might be called an adrenaline overdose. And I couldn’t sweat at the time.

Considering how famously in recent years the defendants in such cases have been dealt with overseas, the prince can only hope at the mercy of the jury. If, of course, the case goes to court. Here is what lawyer Lisa Blum said:

“In the United States, we have instructed the jury to question the words of a witness who was once caught in a lie. After all, he may be lying about something else. If the jury thinks that Prince Andrew lied when he said he never met Virginia, then they will fully side with her.

The royal family’s lawyers are counting on an amicable settlement between the prince’s prosecutor, Virginia Giuffre, and the late Jeffrey Epstein. The document, according to which Giuffre has already received compensation of two million pounds, is to be made public in New York. According to the defense of the Duke of York, this means that claims against him, as Epstein’s ally, must also be exhausted. However, the prosecution made it clear in advance that the very fact of an agreement cannot save Epstein’s assistants or any of his guests from prosecution. From the point of view of the American prosecutor’s office, the fact that there is an agreement at all simply proves that the criminals really knew the victim.
