The Spanish Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia RS-GP), third fastest time for the MotoGP French Grand Prix, pointed out that “there are times when you think you could do better, that you’ve made a mistake, but honestly it was impossible to improve”. “I couldn’t fight Pecco’s pole,” he added.
“I did the perfect lap, I only lost one tenth in the fourth set, but I can’t stop the bike well at the finish line and this track is costing me a lot on this track and I like more the circuits where you leave ride the bike, but here it’s the opposite”, explained the Aprilia rider.
“Yes, it is true that the team has done a very good job to help me, we have worked a lot, we have changed the setting of the shock absorber to try to make the bike stop a little better, but it is not my style and I am happy, because I’ve done two very, very good laps, and the first row is important for tomorrow”, he assures Aleix Espargaro.
From the fall he acknowledged having “made a mistake”. “My mistake was one hundred percent” and he explained that he had “braked too late, the soft rear tire pushes me a lot in front when braking and I can’t stop the bike”.

“With the second bike I didn’t have them all with me, because I hadn’t used it, it had an engine with a lot of kilometers and I thought ‘you’ve screwed it up well’, but no, I’ve been strong and with the first tire, without risking much, because I knew that if I crashed I wouldn’t have a second bike, I’ve had a good feeling, and it’s already been two almost suicidal laps. It’s incredible the times that have been set here,” he assured Espargaro.
“We have left the local hero behind, because Fabius here he is very fast, and after one lap he is also really good, so being able to be in front of him is important and tomorrow I will try to continue there, but we will see what the weather conditions are, because it looks like everything can be very changeable, although I hope tomorrow will not rain, because we really have a good pace to fight up front”, insisted Aleix Espargaro.
