The drought and the heat increase the risk of forest fires, the fire brigade in the Elbe-Elster district is hoping for rain. Hoping for Saturday!
It’s blazing in Brandenburg’s forests. The fire brigade in the Elbe-Elster district is now hoping for rain: “Everything depends on the weather conditions.” In Berlin and all around it will also be hot in the next few days…
The trend shows: it mostly stays dry. Temperatures between 21 and 28 degrees are the order of the day. If it rains, then only lightly.
We can’t expect real downpours here in Berlin until Thursday next week. Instead, the sun will shine on Berlin for up to 16 hours tomorrow. This dries up nature on the outskirts of the capital.
Particularly dangerous in forest fires: wind. This is because fires spread even faster. After all, it remains largely calm.
Heat alone does not trigger forest fires. But high temperatures, drought, low humidity and wind can increase the risk of wildfires.
The weather in Falkenberg (Elbe-Elster) should be similar to Berlin in the next few days – sometimes even hotter, up to 31 degrees! But: On Saturday it could finally pour properly here – a glimmer of hope for the fire brigade.
