It is with great regret that Caledonia Mining Plc reports a fatal accident at the Blanket Mine
St Helier, 22nd February 2022 – It is with regret that Caledonia Mining Corporation plc (“Caledonia”) confirms that an accident occurred at Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe on the morning of 21st February 2022 in which the Blanket worker , Andrew Clydon Phiri (aged 35), died.
The accident involved an LHD loader in one of Blanket’s underground haulage operations.
Further details cannot be released pending the completion of the investigation by the relevant authorities into this incident.
Caledonia extends its condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased.
