Brabant has a summer day for the first time this year: in several places in the province, the Kwik has passed the 25 degrees on Wednesday afternoon. The warmest is in Woensdrecht, around half past four it was 25.9 degrees there. With 25.5 degrees, Eindhoven is just below that.

A temperature of 25 degrees or higher is needed for a summer day. “So at the moment we officially have a summer day, the first of the year in the province,” says meteorologist Floris Lafeber of Weerplaza. According to him, the maximum temperature for this Wednesday was achieved.

Also in the rest of the Netherlands it is officially summer again. At ten to half past four the temperature in De Bilt rose to 25 degrees. It is earlier than usual, because on average it will only be summer at the main station for the first time on 16 May.

Thursday it seems to be getting warmer. “Then it can be 28 degrees in our province in a few places. That is really much warmer than the average. Normally it will be around 19 degrees on 1 May,” says Lafeber.

Cool down
Friday is also a very nice day for us, with temperatures that can match that from Thursday.

“But after that it will be less. Saturday will be a changeable day with a possible rain and a feeling temperature of 20 degrees. On Sunday it will be a maximum of 12 degrees. So we have to enjoy it now that it is still possible,” Lafeber concludes.
