The plans for the construction of approximately 170 homes in Klazienaveen hardly get off the ground. And that is by no means driver CPO our stee. According to them, delays and bureaucracy are the biggest culprits. She demands fast action from the municipality.
The municipality of Emmen stands for a tough task when it comes to housing. Up to 2030, 4000 houses must be added. For starters and the elderly it is not always easy to get a place in their own village. For that reason, residents organize themselves in a collective to build homes together: collective private commissioning (CPO). In this form, for example, it is possible to be one step ahead of project developers in new construction.
This is how CPO founded last year also created our stee with 130 prospective members. In most cases it concerns seniors, starters and transferers. The CPO did not exactly sit still and found several patches of land for the construction of houses. According to a spokesperson, there have already been serious conversations with this with especially farmers and the municipality.
For example, the CPO wants to use part of the former and currently vacant AZC site in Klazienaveen (in the possession of the municipality) for the construction of 24 senior homes. An adjacent Lap arable land is in the picture for another 72 homes. Furthermore, our stee has a suitable construction location in Klazienaveen, near the Derksweg. A plan has also been submitted to the municipality for this location for around 72 homes.
To be able to purchase the land and convert it into potential residential locations, the municipality is a necessary party. “In the first instance, the municipality adequately picked up the plans and received our Stee positive reports about cooperation,” said a spokesperson for the CPO. Shortly after a meeting, the municipality reported that the plan submitted would not be picked up by them.
The CPO was asked to submit a new plan. “This was submitted months ago and the big wait started. Communication with the municipality has been very difficult since then.”
At invitations to the CPO to go to the table, it was not discussed. “We have been on the road for almost a year now and in fact not much further with the municipality,” said the spokesperson. The planned project is currently in an impasse.
Incidentally, it is not that the CPO thinks that the officials are not doing their best “They really have a lot of work to hand.” But frustration is growing because the feeling arises from the platform that the municipality does not really prioritize their project.
In some cases, those involved have to wait for months for a response. “And when there is finally response, it often doesn’t seem to be the right information.”
On Thursday, the CPO will hold a meeting in which, in addition to the supporters, the groups of local political parties are also invited. The village council is also present at the meeting. “We are considering promotions. Our patience is pretty much on. It is so slow and plans just don’t get along.”
The municipality has been asked for a response, but has not yet responded.
