It had been in the air for a while, but now it is official: Erik ten Hag is leaving for Manchester United. For the 52-year-old Haaksberger, a 4.5-year contract with Ajax comes to an end.
Edwin van der Sar: “Four and a half years is a good period, but we would have liked to have kept Erik longer at Ajax. He is going to make the step to one of the biggest clubs in the world, which plays in a fantastic competition. We owe Erik a lot of thanks anyway for what he has achieved with Ajax so far, but we are not done yet. At the end of the season I will look back more extensively on his departure, for now count the last games of the season in which we all want to prolong the national title.”
