A person affected by the construction of Metro line 7B in San Fernando de Henares left the former president of the Community of Madrid speechless

Risto Mejide connected yesterday on ‘Everything is a Lie’ with Alejandro Escribano, one of the many affected by the construction of Metro line 7B in San Fernando de Henares. From one of the most affected streets, The spokesperson intervened in the program Four to explain the dramatic situation that the neighbors are experiencing. “What you see behind me is what my house was (…) this building, along with others in the surrounding area, have been affected since 2008,” he began by saying.

The affected person directly pointed out Esperanza Aguirre for the “electoral work” that caused hundreds of families to lose their homes: “They have been left in the dark while a negligent Community of Madrid does not provide any real solution to those affected”. Specifically, there are more than 600 damaged homes throughout the municipality, as Escribano recalled to Risto Mejide.

By allusions, the former president of the Community of Madrid herself responded to the spokesperson from the set of the program: “I think that the neighbors who are suffering this ordeal are absolutely right to complain. But I also say that I understand that the Community of Madrid said that it was going to compensate them and says that it is compensating them. I don’t know if it is slower because of the change of Government, because there is another counselor or for whatever reason.”

“Metro line 7 went to the Coslada hospital, it was never going to pass through San Fernando de Henares. It was the mayor, Montse, from Izquierda Unida, who insisted that line 7B be built. I am very sorry, but the neighbors have to understand that neither I nor Isabel Díaz Ayuso are the ones who prepare the technical reports for a work to be developed, that has to be done by specialized people,” Aguirre said to throw things out.

Some explanations that were quickly dismantled by Escribano: “I think it is a level of school administrative knowledge to know that A city council cannot make decisions regarding public infrastructure like the Metro.which is the responsibility of the Department of Transportation of, by the way, Francisco Granados at that time.”

When he was about to share details about the technical reports that were issued in 2005, Aguirre tried to cut his story short: “No technical report has ever reached my desk.” “I have not interrupted you at any time, let me speak calmly”the guest asked the collaborator in the middle of an atmosphere full of tension.

“What they said was that building this infrastructure and doubling the route in record time to reach the elections was not a good idea because the terrain was not favorable. You had those reports”assured the young man: “When the subway began to cause damage in 2008, the Department of Transport and the Community of Madrid asked the UCM and the Polytechnic for a hydrological report of the soil to see what was happening. What that report said was that, if action was not taken imminently, San Fernando de Henares would end up sunk as it is today.

Escribano insisted that the responsibility was “sole and exclusive” of Aguirre and his Department: “What I’m saying is supported by a judge”. “The ruin of this municipality, of hundreds and thousands of people, is generated by its political ineptitude and its malpractice when executing this project. Yours and your advisor, one of many who came out on top in different corruption plots “, he pointed out in the Cuatro space.

Aguirre, not knowing how to defend himself, simply asked him a question that had little or nothing to do with Escribano’s account of the events: “Were you a councilor with Mayor Montse?” “No, I am an affected citizen of San Fernando de Henares and I know the case perfectly”he defended.
