“It breaks my heart”

Former HSV coach Tim Walter once again addressed the fans and members of the Hamburg second division soccer team with emotional words.

“It breaks my heart that I have to say goodbye to all of you on this way,” wrote the 48-year-old in a message in the official club magazine “HSVlive”.

Walter was released from Hamburger SV a week and a half ago. On Sunday, his successor Steffen Baumgart will make his debut as HSV coach.

For two and a half years, his entire ambition was “to get promoted to the first league together with you. I gave everything for that every day,” wrote Walter. The fact that they didn’t make it together makes him very sad – “and, given some of the events, also angry.”

He alluded to central defender Mario Vuskovic’s doping ban and the last game of last season, when Hamburg celebrated promotion after the game at SV Sandhausen. In the end, 1. FC Heidenheim intercepted them.
