Clothing supplier Gerry Weber International AG has announced a change in management in its IT department. Stefan Beyler, who has held the position of Director Group IT since June 2018, has left the company with immediate effect, the group announced on Wednesday. Peter K. Albrecht will now head the department on an interim basis until a permanent successor is found. “The change is based on Stefan Beyler’s personal desire to spend more time in Wiesbaden, where he lives,” explained Gerry Weber.
“We would like to thank Stefan very much for his work over the past few years – especially during the difficult period of insolvency and restructuring,” said CFO Florian Frank in a statement. “Furthermore, Stefan gave us a good step forward on the topic of cyber security and safely navigated us through an attempted attack last summer. We regret that Stefan is no longer part of the team and wish him all the best personally and professionally for the future!”
With Albrecht, the group was able to hire a proven IT expert as an interim solution. Most recently, he ran his own consulting agency, PKA-Advisory GmbH. Before that, he worked, among other things, as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the optician chain Fielmann and as Head of Technology at the supermarket operator Edeka.
“With Peter K. Albrecht, we have been able to gain an IT director with a wide range of experience,” explained Florian Frank. “With his focus on agilization, business intelligence, IT governance, security, GDPR and sourcing, his portfolio is currently a perfect fit for the challenges that we at Gerry Weber want to overcome or tackle.”
