NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has been appointed the new head of the Norwegian Central Bank. This was reported in the government of the country.
Jens Stoltenberg will head NATO until the end of the contract – September 30 this year. The current head of the Bank of Norway, Øystein Olsen, will step down on March 1.
Jens Stoltenberg announced that until October 1 he would concentrate all his forces on the leadership of NATO. Then he will come home and start working as the head of the Central Bank.
The media reported who could become the new NATO Secretary General. The following candidates are being considered – former British Prime Minister Theresa May, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kallas and former head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini.
