The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezarrived this Friday night in Cairo to attend the international summit to be held in Egypt to address the current conflict in the Gaza Strip following the terrorist attack perpetrated by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) against Israel on October 7.
The day will begin around 9:25 (Spanish time) with the reception of the heads of State and Government by the President of the Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fatah Al Sisi. During the morning, Sánchez will attend both plenary sessions and will end with a working lunch.

The summit, called by the Egyptian president, will address the current situation in the region and the acute humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as well as the future of the Palestinian cause and the peace process, Moncloa said in a statement, which frames this meeting in the effort to “mobilize the international community with the aim of stopping the current spiral of violence and seeking solutions to the conflict.” The president travels accompanied by the Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares.
Several leaders from the region as well as some Europeans are expected to attend Saturday’s meeting organized by the Egyptian president, Abdel Fattá al Sisi.
