The Israeli army performed air strikes on Wednesday at military locations in the Syrian cities of Damascus, Hama and Homs. That reports Reuters news agency. The Hama airport would be almost completely destroyed after the attacks. Whether there have been deaths is not known.

In the southern city of Deraa, ground troops were deployed to confiscate battle equipment and destroy terror infrastructure according to the Israeli army. Syrian militants and citizens would also have been killed in the attack, so reports Al Jazeera.

In the border regions of Syria with Lebanon and Israel, it has been restless since the fall of President Bashar al-Assad. After the takeover of power by the Islamic transitional government led by President Ahmed al-Sharaa, the Israeli government sent ground troops to Syria.

Israel states that it will not tolerate an Islamic militant presence in southern Syria because it would be a danger to Israel’s safety.
