Color attack on the office of the German-Israeli Society (DIG) in the middle of Berlin! Unknown persons have daubed the words “40 years of massacre” on the door, sprayed the doorbell and made the logo panel unrecognizable.

According to Volker Beck, President of the DIG, the attack took place between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

The perpetrators refer to an event from 40 years ago in the Lebanese civil war, Beck explains: the massacre in the refugee camps of Sabra and Shatila in September 1982.

Although this can be attributed to the Maronite Christian Phalangists, the area was under Israeli military control at the time, which did not prevent the massacre. During the massacre, the militiamen mainly tortured and killed civilians, including many women and children.

Volker Beck on this: “The Israeli leaders were also criticized accordingly by the Israeli government commission. None of this justifies a corresponding attack. Anyone who commits such color attacks wants to intimidate, unsettle and silence.”

A criminal complaint was filed for damage to property.
