United States sends second aircraft carrier to Israel
The United States sends a second aircraft carrier to the eastern Mediterranean. That reports ABC News. The presence of the USS Eisenhower, which joins the previously sent USS Gerald R Ford, should deter Iran or Hezbollah from interfering in the war between Israel and Hamas.
According to CNN, the US is also considering sending a third attack ship to Israel. The US government has not yet officially confirmed the reports about the ships.
Israel attacks Syrian airport again, possibly in retaliation
Aleppo airport in Syria was targeted by an air strike on Saturday. According to the Syrian Ministry of Defense, Israel is behind the attack. The airport cannot be used for the time being due to the attack.
Earlier on Saturday, the airport was put back into use after being out of service for several days due to previous Israeli air strikes. The earlier attacks also hit the airport in the capital Damascus. According to Reuters news agency Israel is attacking Syria’s airports to disrupt Iranian supply lines to the country.
Saturday’s attack on Aleppo is possible retaliation for two rocket attacks launched from Syria earlier in the day. No injuries were reported in those attacks.
