André van Duin sometimes zaps past SBS 6 and is slightly annoyed by presenters who pass by just a little too often. “Then I think: isn’t it a bit much?” confesses the Omroep MAX star.
At the moment he is perhaps the biggest star of the NPO: 75-year-old André van Duin. Thanks to Heel Holland Bakt, he is still in the spotlight. Next season the program will see a huge change: the confectioners will move from Sunday to Saturday evening.
On to the trains
Quite a thing, André tells De Telegraaf. “It takes some getting used to, for many people, Heel Holland bakes on Sundays is a regular habit. But we will still be on TV that day, with the Doorbakken program.”
And when Heel Holland Bakt is over? “Then we will sail again and then continue to the trains”, he says, pointing to the program The Great Small Train Competition.
SBS 6 stars
But that’s not all, because there’s another program coming up, says André. “That will probably be called André’s Comedy Club. In it I talk for 45 minutes with eight comedians, it will be recorded in the summer. And then it’s time for Heel Holland Bakt. Yes, I can be seen all year round.”
He can therefore no longer criticize all those jack-of-all-trades who work at SBS 6, André concludes. “I sometimes see people on SBS who present that game again and then that again. Then I think: isn’t it a bit much? But I actually do it myself, so I can’t criticize, haha.”
