How sneaky! Unidentified people threw Molotov cocktails at a police car and shouted Islamist slogans during an operation in Berlin-Mitte.

However, the incendiary devices missed the car on Thursday night and did not ignite, a police spokeswoman said. The crew of the patrol car – a female police officer and two police officers – were able to continue their duties.

The officers were on the way to burning garbage containers on Friedrichstrasse. On the way there, a group of eight to ten people, some of whom were masked, fled towards Mehringplatz.

“Two unknown people from the group threw two bottles filled with unknown liquid, clogged with a textile, in the direction of the moving emergency vehicle,” says a police spokeswoman. As the suspects ran away, the officers heard Islamist shouts.

According to BZ information, the bottles shattered about 6 meters away. The police are now checking what kind of liquid was in the bottles.

The fire department then extinguished the four burning garbage cans.

According to BZ information, there were eight to ten attackers who were then able to escape. The state security agency has taken over the investigation.
