The Israeli army carried out airstrikes against Islamic Jihad targets in Gaza on the night from Monday to Tuesday. The Palestinian authorities report that nine people have been killed. An Israeli army spokesman said a Jihad commander from the northern part of the Gaza Strip was among those killed.
