Joris Nieuwenhuis takes the lead in the first lap. Iserbyt joins in and Joran Wyseure is in the group behind him. The Dutch champion is too strong for the competition. There it is Wyseure who only tries to close the gap on Nieuwenhuis, in vain.
In the meantime, Michael Vanthourenhout has returned to Joran Wyseure, Eli Iserbyt and Lars van der Haar. Wyseure then has bad luck and has to let the rest go. He will also give up later. Nieuwenhuis is clearly the strongest and leads by 25 seconds. The battle for the other podium places is between Vanthourenhout, Van der Haar and Iserbyt, but he is initially unable to keep up with the pace of the other two.
