“Absolute top performer”
Isaiah Young will also lace up his shoes for Rot-Weiss Essen in the coming season. As the promoted team in the third division announced, the 24-year-old winger has signed a new contract until the summer of 2024. Most recently, 1. FC Magdeburg and VfL Osnabrück, among others, were considered interested in the lightning-fast American, who scored nine goals and prepared 14 more in the past regional league season.
“Isi has become a fixture in our game over the past two years. In the past season in particular, he managed to constantly bring his strengths into play and thus repeatedly posed problems for the opposing defenses. His scorer values speak for themselves, he is an absolute top performer and an important building block for our promotion. Still, Isi can become even more effective and purposeful, which is why we believe his development isn’t over yet. In many discussions we were able to convince him that he can also take the next development step with us. We are therefore very happy that he has chosen us and is staying in Essen,” said sporting director Jörn Nowak.
Isaiah Young submitted his working paper to the #Hafenstrasse extended by two more years. Nice that you are staying with us, Isi!
