Isabel Marant created her first own creations when she was a teenager. What began as a hobby and pastime took on serious traits after studying at the Paris private school Studio Bercot: In 1994, Marant founded her eponymous label. In a short time, the label developed from an insider tip from fashion editors to a name that has a loyal customer base all over the world and is one of the most successful high-street brands in the ready-to-wear sector.

In early 2010, the label caught the attention of the fashion scene when the label launched a wedge sneaker that quickly became the epitome of comfortable yet fashionable street style. Despite the continuous growth that the label recorded before the launch of the sneaker, a new chapter began for Isabel Marant in which international recognition increased. Since then, the label has embodied an effortless style that sets itself apart from the crowd with a touch of androgyny and bohemianism. In 1999, the label launched a second line called Isabel Marant Étoile, whose range consists largely of jeans and t-shirts – “real clothes for real moments” according to Marant. A lingerie line and one for children soon followed. In 2017, the label launched its first men’s collection, turning Isabel Marant into a cosmos of French clothing for various occasions and different target groups.
Current
The company recently opened a second flagship store in New York. According to the brand, more stores will follow in the United States. In addition, Isabel Marant opened a new store in Berlin and Dubai in 2022. A resale platform was also launched for three European markets. In doing so, the label is following the example of many other high-end brands that have turned the reuse of used clothing into a business model.
