Is Victoria Beckham returning to the Spice Girls?

In a TikTok video, Beckham sings to a Spice Girls song and causes speculation.

Will Posh Spice return to the Spice Girls? This is the question many fans of the British girl group are asking themselves after this weekend. The reason for this is a video clip that the ex-Spice Girl posted on her official TikTok account on Monday (July 24).

In it you can see the 49-year-old singer exuberant in a karaoke song. She sings the Spice Girls’ 1996 song “Say You’ll Be There” alongside her dancing husband David Beckham.

The nearly minute and a half video features Posh Spice singing during a party celebrating soccer superstar Lionel Messi’s debut in Major League Soccer with Inter Miami. Fans believe Victoria Beckham’s karaoke session heralds her return to music and her former bandmates.

The video’s caption reads, “Voice warm-up in Miami! More to come!!” which got fans excited as they believed the former pop singer-turned-designer would be returning to the Spice Girls.

Fans immediately responded to the caption in the comments, which hints at a return soon. One commenter wrote: “The return of POSH SPICE OMG LIFE,” while another shared: “Please come back with the other girls! You are my childhood!”

New Spice Girls project in the works

Back in May, the girl group hinted that a mysterious project involving all five original members is in the works. Scary Spice (aka Mel B) has told UK magazine The Sun that the pop group is putting the finishing touches on a new project that is due to be unveiled “quite soon”. She also shared that it will be something fans will love.

“We intend to release a statement. I can’t say what that is right now because we’re perfecting what we’re going to do together, all five of us, but it’s going to be something the fans are going to really love,” she said.

She also confirmed that Beckham will be a part of the project, saying, “It’s not even about convincing them. I mean she dressed me and my mother […] so we kind of always stayed in touch.” And she went on to explain, “It’s not that none of us speak to each other, we all have a WhatsApp group, but it’s just a matter of timing.”

“She’s been really busy doing her clothing line and helping David with his moves and his career and obviously she’s got a bunch of kids so it’s just a matter of timing and we did that so there should be an announcement pretty soon,” she explained.

Beckham previously explained that her fashion and cosmetics lines, as well as her children, are the reasons why reuniting with her ex-band was not an option for her.

Beckham told German Vogue at the time: “It took a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who says, ‘You know, I don’t do it because things feel different now than before'”. “I prefer to focus on my family and my company. I’m 45 now and very happy to be the woman I am,” she added.

Will the Spice Girls headline Glastonbury 2024?

The Spice Girls are one of the main contenders for the Glastonbury Festival title next year.

Mel B had previously hinted on The Big Narstie Show that the band would be performing at Glastonbury in 2023 and said she would like to do a special gig. However, Sporty Spice Mel C then announced that the band would not be able to attend due to scheduling conflicts. “We’d love to perform in Glasto,” she said. “It just doesn’t fit into the current plan with the girls. We want to get back on stage – everything is still up in the air.”

To date, the Spice Girls are among the most successful girl group acts from Great Britain. The five-piece band formed in 1994 with the help of talent managers Bob and Chris Herbert. Their debut single “Wannabe” topped the charts in more than 30 countries and is considered the best-selling girl band single of all time. In 2019, the Spice Girls celebrated their comeback – but without Posh Spice Victoria Beckham.
