Atakan Karazor is a member of the Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. But the Swabians could face a sudden departure for the midfielder.
As “calciomercato.it” reports, Karazor is at the top of the wish list at Italian club Lazio. Accordingly, the Romans want to lure the German-Turk into Serie A in the winter.
But Lazio is apparently not the only interested party. According to the report, unnamed clubs from Germany and Turkey have also reached out to Karazor. The biggest competition comes from West Ham United from the English Premier League.
After Wataru Endo’s departure to Liverpool FC in the summer of 2023, Karazor is the strong man in VfB Stuttgart’s midfield. In the current Bundesliga season, the 27-year-old was in the starting line-up in all Bundesliga games. He only missed the most recent 5-2 win against RB Leipzig due to a yellow card suspension.
VfB Stuttgart: Karazor rejected offer
Karazor played for VfL Bochum in his youth. After two years with Borussia Dortmund’s reserve team, he joined Holstein Kiel in 2017. Two years later we went to VfB Stuttgart. The Swabians transferred 800,000 euros for the midfielder.
Karazor was already in the focus of other clubs last season. However, he rejected an offer from Galatasaray.
“If a club like that that can play in the Champions League shows interest, then of course I’m honored,” said Karazor in an interview with “Sky” in January.
But it was clear to him that he wanted to stay at VfB Stuttgart. “I feel very comfortable here and that is the main reason why I want to stay here,” emphasized the Essen native.
Karazor’s contract in Stuttgart runs until the end of June 2026.
