It’s still unclear how Blink-182 will continue. Since Tom DeLonge left the group in 2015 and Matt Skiba took his place, there have been no further statements on Blink-182’s future. Now Tom DeLonge published a post on Instagram that led to speculation about his return.
Just a few weeks ago, Skiba commented on a fan comment and wrote: “Your guess is as good as mine. Regardless, I’m very proud and grateful for my time with @blink182. We will see…”.
Instagram bio hints at comeback
DeLonge has now added even more confusion and obscurity with his latest social media activity. He updated his Instagram bio, which now reads, “I make music (@blink182 and @angelsandairwaves) and films (@tothestars.media), and at TTS I work with a couple of spies and a very important physicist.”
It is not entirely clear whether his statement is meant seriously or is just intended to represent a mini CV. However, fans took this action as an opportunity to hope for a comeback. Among other things, DeLonge didn’t mention his collaboration with Travis Barker from the early 2000s. This gave fans another glimmer of hope — they believe he only mentions active projects.
“I feel like I’m always talking about some kind of reunion”
Also on Sunday (July 31), DeLonge shared a photo of the Blink 182 trio on Instagram. Back in November he told James Corden that there was definitely an interest in the band reuniting. He said: “It’s so funny: Blink, it’s like, we’re there and then we’re gone and then we’re there and then we’re gone. I feel like I’m always talking about some sort of reunion. We always talk about playing together again and I think that’s definitely something we’re all interested in. Finding the time for it where it aligns with everyone’s priorities is really all it takes, and Mark [Hoppus] to get well again, to make him strong again. But yeah I’m sad, I think the boys are sad. I think we just have to find the time to do it and when, we just have to figure that out.”
