Slides and diving towers in the summer pools in Pankow and Neukölln – the end of the pool season? Despite the measures, there was stress again in the summer pool in Pankow on Sunday afternoon!
Security became aware of two 23-year-old men. The allegation: sexual harassment. The three security guards wanted to clarify the situation with the two bathers in the pool building. But there was a fight in front of the door!
The 23-year-old was slightly injured in the shoulder and chest, one of the employees in the hand. The allegation of sexual harassment could not be confirmed. The police are now investigating on suspicion of mutual dangerous bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.
Fewer visitors
Otherwise it remained quiet on the summer weekend in the outdoor pools. There was no heated atmosphere – but so was the fun and the bathers.
Despite 26 degrees on Saturday, it didn’t get really crowded in the summer pool in Pankow. Even when larger and larger groups of men arrived in the afternoon, the air didn’t burn.
No more group formation
So are the tactics of the pool companies working now? After three mass brawls on Thursday, they closed the diving towers and large slides in Pankow and Neukölln until further notice. The result: no more long queues and dangerous group formation. “Unfortunately, not all bathers knew that the attractions were closed, so some visitors were disappointed. At the same time, a number of guests showed full understanding of the situation,” said the bathing establishments.
The announced police protection in the form of mobile guards in front of selected pools was still missing at the weekend.
The admission controls were not tightened, as requested by the police union (GdP). Instead, just a quick look in the pockets and the question: “Do you have any glass bottles with you?” In addition, the security patrolled the sunbathing area in groups of two and checked that everything was in order.
The balance of the pool companies after the fun-free weekend: “All in all, it was quieter than usual in the two pools at the weekend.”
