Surprising passenger on the highway in the Czech Republic. A red-painted racer – in the Formula 1 look – suddenly appears on the D4 trunk road in neighboring Germany. What’s it all about?
Suddenly Kimi Raikkonen is driving next to you on the Autobahn. At least it seems so. A red racer in the F1 Ferrari look speeds down the Czech motorway.
Videos of the scene on the D4 motorway between Příbram and Dobříš are circulating on the internet. An unknown driver apparently has fun driving his private racer.
According to consistent reports, the car is an old GP2 racer (now Formula 2) from the years 2008 to 2010. The colour, number, logos and sponsor stickers are intended to give the impression that a Ferrari was driven by Kimi Raikkonen (no 7) is on the way).
In 2007, the Finn became the last Ferrari world champion so far. A tribute? The racing car has over 600 hp with its V8 engine. The driver can also audibly howl. To what extent he violates the speed limit is unclear.
Not the first ride
One thing is clear: It is not the first outing with the GP2 racer. Already in 2019 there were videos and reports from and about the ride over the Autobahn. The police investigated. According to Czech media reports, the officials also found the owner of the racer, but could not convict him because the helmet did not make it 100% clear who was driving.
The 45-year-old escaped a fine of tens of thousands of euros. Because: The number violates the road traffic regulations. The PS bolide is not approved for the streets. The police are on the scene again now. It remains to be seen whether she will be more successful this time.
