Evert Santegoeds wonders whether Özcan Akyol is telling the truth about the alleged video in which Matthijs van Nieuwkerk behaves monstrously. “I’m starting to have doubts.”
Özcan Akyol states that he has already had a video shoved in front of him three or four times of Matthijs van Nieuwkerk behaving horribly. That is also the reason why he suddenly turned his back on him. We only know that there is footage thanks to Özcan, but according to him the video is already circulating en masse in Hilversum.
Mysterious video
That is not entirely correct, because Angela de Jong, Evert Santegoeds, Jan Slagter, Rob Goossens and Tina Nijkamp, among others, have not seen the video. And yet they are quite prominent in the media landscape. Özcan’s claim that the video is circulating en masse in Hilversum therefore does not seem to be correct.
At the RTL Boulevard desk, Eddy Zoëy even openly doubted the existence of this video and therefore the integrity of Özcan. “Can we conclude that it is very doubtful that that video even exists?”
Evert also has doubts
Private boss Evert Santegoeds also has doubts. “It’s now all about that mysterious recording of the rehearsal that was recorded and where Matthijs goes completely crazy. Well, I really called everyone yesterday. Really people who make me think: well, if that recording really goes around like everyone says, then that one definitely has it and that one definitely has it.”
He continues in the podcast Strictly Private: “But no one has it, so I’m starting to doubt Eus’ story a bit. Or Eus is invited to someone who says: ‘I’m going to take a look’, that could be the case, but he says that they are shared en masse. Well, they are certainly not shared en masse, because then the people I spoke to would certainly have had them.”
Size sewer
What does Evert think of Özcan throwing his best friend Matthijs under the bus? “I think it’s quite special. He didn’t have to do it, but I don’t think so to call him a size monger. With progressive insight you can come to different conclusions.”
It is true that Özcan is now contributing to Matthijs’ downfall, according to Evert. “I think it’s just becoming the end of Matthijs’ career. You’re not going to get over this in one go.”
Better leaks
Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden wonders what will help Matthijs the most. “If those images of Matthijs exist, then it is only better for him if they leak, because then he can defend himself against something.”
Evert: “Yes, but you will never get those images off your retina again. You can’t defend yourself against that. You can say that it was on a whim, but the story is that it was a daily occurrence. (…) I now challenge everyone: if you have them, share them, because I am slowly starting to doubt their existence.”
One-two
VI prominent Sam Hagens suggests that there is a one-two punch. “I have never heard anyone talk about the images or that there are images of his inappropriate behavior. But it has also been suggested that it might have been discussed between the two, right? Between Matthijs and Eus,” he says in the section In The Walkways.
Wilfred Genee: “To do it this way, but what does that gain Matthijs? It would be very strange if one of your best friends breaks it to indicate that there may be more doubts about you and more going on. Then you turn in exactly the wrong direction.”
Sam: “Yes, maybe to break things up a bit. I do not know exactly.”
