Royal Expert Sanna-Mari Hovi is of the opinion that Margareeta would not give up her crown because of the commotion.
– Personally, I absolutely do not think that there is any point in it. If a king or queen abdicates, it is truly extraordinary. Especially in the Nordic countries, where it hasn’t really been done at all.

Hovi cannot say whether the rumors are true, but in his opinion, Frederik’s actions were careless in the age of camera phones and social media.
